Photos taken by me on Banyuls Beach and Harbour.

The beach is pebbly with some sand at either end.  Apart from the far right hand end which is shallow, the water gets deep quickly.  Being the Mediterranean, there is no tide or currents and waves tend to be small compared to the Atlantic coast  There is a swimming platform during summer, boats are not allowed into the bathing area and during the summer season there is a lifeguard on duty.  Water temperature is typically 23°C during July and August.  When the sun shines in October, it is still possible to swim.
